Project Scope
- Subgrade preparation of 3.4 ha (8.4 ac) site to 95% standard proctor and installation of over 1.26km of French drains for proper drainage.
- Surface preparation including installation of red shale and crushed limestone for 0.90ac area, screening and placement of topsoil and sod for 7.14ac outfields and amenity areas.
- Construction over 500m of gravel trail.
Erection of 1.2km of chain link fence. - Construction of eight concrete dugouts, including the installation of the metal roof structures.
- Installation of backstop netting and unique overhead canopy tension netting system, the first of its kind in Western Canada.
Challenges
- The installation of the unique overhead canopy tension netting system requires specialty equipment and safety training.
- Tight timeline to complete project for Canada Day game day.
